Wave Sculpture – Aesthetic Flotation Therapy

Have you heard of “floatation therapy?” According to Serenity Now Float Spa, “It involves floating in a silent, dark tank of very salty water,” cutting off all external stimuli except for “the warmth of the water encompassing your body.” It promises that “the lack of sensory input in the tank contrasts with your typically busy life, allowing you to fully relax” and experience “benefits such as muscle relaxation, pain relief, reduced stress, and better sleep.”

Sounds great, right?

What if there was a way to experience similar benefits on a daily basis and without getting wet? There is! It’s abundantly available in my “Making Waves” sculptures. These unique sculptures immerse viewers in the soothing movement and color of water. Their rounded curves, sea-friendly hues, warm wood grain, and simple and soothing composition work together to elicit peace, harmony, relaxation, rest, and joy.

The power of these aesthetics comes from their inspiring source: soothing sea waves. Anybody who’s entered a wavy sea, lake, river, or stream has experienced this sensation. Even laying back in a beach chair to soak in the sensory delights of a soothing surf brings this joy. The rhythmic soundtrack lifts the visual delights of the waves to their soul-soothing place. Even as I hand-sculpt each “wave” in a larger piece, I am aware of this wonderful experience. It fuels the joy I want to share with others as I create these artworks.

So, come to the aesthetic “floatation spa” which is my wave sculptures. And may you be carried away to a place of peace as you float away in the soothing aesthetics of these wave sculptures.
