Artist’s
Statement
This is
the finest piece of wood sculpture I have yet created. The
workmanship required and overall design challenged all my
creative and woodworking skills. I am quite happy with the
result. The piece is warm yet crisp. It has a light, open,
airy feel. The colors and textures are interesting, showcasing
the natural beauty (everything is unstained!) in the exotic
woods I used for the “rungs.” The piece hangs
together to form a classic, rich piece of artwork.
