This sculpture was an experiment taking various thicknesses
of wood and causing them to interlock and weave together.
I wanted to play with bending and weaving the elements, giving
more depth to this piece. The copper pins were an attempt
to add a different texture and feel to the piece – a
metallic element – but only in a subtle way. I didn’t
want the metal to glare out at the viewer. Overall, I am very
pleased with the result and will surely incorporate the lessons
learned here in later pieces.
