Artist’s Statement

Fish. Gun. Elephant Gun. Rhino Chaser. Plank. Longboard. Tanker. Log. Short Board. Big Gun.

If a particular move is a surfer’s signature, then his board is the pen. These days, boards become a statement in and of themselves. From nose to tail, from fins to graphics, most surfers are identified, at least in part, by their board. I thought I’d take a shot at some graphics. My favorite is the “blue flame” version, which is the large picture on this page. Many thanks go to my friend Dennis who helped bring these designs to life. Not bad for a bunch of Missouri land-bound surfer wannabes, huh?
