COMMISSION AN ORIGINAL

I welcome commissioned sculptures from individuals and organizations!

To commission a piece of dwmerkey sculpture means that you and/or your organization’s unique values are creatively memorialized in a beautiful work of art. Such a sculpture can be shared with family, friends, colleagues, and clients for generations. It will be totally unique to you and/or your organization. I have worked with many different people and groups to create such sculptures. Click on Client Comments to read what some of these good people have said about working with me and about the sculpture I created for them.

A commission starts with you and/or your organization’s values. Usually, you’ll have some ideas, themes, and perhaps some design suggestions. In conversation, I will help draw out these elements toward artistically expressing them in a sculpture. I’ll then create a sketch of the idea(s) which can be a drawing or an actual miniature version of the sculpture. My experience with a wide variety of themes and materials means that I can select the best route that meets your unique application.

Again in conversation, we will discuss the sketch to decide on size, materials, and overall look of the actual finished piece. It is at this time that price and a delivery date are confirmed. After receiving a 50% deposit, I begin work on your personal sculpture. Generally, one review by the client is welcomed before the work is finalized.

Delivery of a finished commission is a joyous time for all involved. It is tremendously rewarding for me as an artist to see the pleasure and satisfaction of a client when they first see their finished sculpture. Again, you can read some of my clients’ comments by clicking on Client Comments.

If you want to talk about a commissioned sculpture for you and/or your organization, please contact me.
